Washing Your Car

To ensure that your car is being cleaned properly without damaging its paint, take time to clean and pamper it yourself.

Before anything else, do your washing under a shade to ensure that soap suds do not dry up fast before you can rinse them off. When your car has been under the heat of the sun, allow it to cool down first before washing.

Spray water on your car's exterior, removing as much dirt and particles as possible with the water's pressure. Avoid using sponge at this time as it can spread the dirt all over your car's surface. Spray the water on the tyres as well. Allow the water to stay on the car's surface to loosen the remaining dirt.

After cleaning your car's interior, wash the exteriors again with running water. Using a car washing shampoo and a bucket of water, prepare your washing mixture based on the manufacturer's instructions.

With an absorbent sponge meant for cars, wash the car's roof in large, circular motions, covering the car's entire surface. Dip your sponge from time to time into your bucket to make sure that it is wet during the entire cleaning process. Continue cleaning down your car's windshield, removing the dirt and grime that are on the glass. When done, proceed to cleaning the car's hood and trunk, maintaining the large, circular motions of your sponge.

Replace the contents of your bucket with another set of clean water and shampoo. This time, clean the lower portions of your car such as the area below the trunk, the bumper, the car's sides, as well as the handles, mirrors and license plates. Rinse your entire car with clean water. Lastly, spray a glass cleaner and wipe it with soft, clean towels on the windows.
